Wall and floor detail nodes are mandatory inspection items in SC on-site audits, and also the most easily overlooked aspects that most readily trigger non-conformance findings. The following 3 high-frequency rejection points must be avoided with priority during food factory new construction and renovation.

Inspection Item

Mandatory Requirement

Risk Level

Reference

Curved Corner Transitions

Wall corners and wall-floor junctions must have curved transitions. Clean operation area radius ≥ 30mm; high-humidity clean areas recommended ≥ 50mm to eliminate dirt-trapping dead corners

High-Frequency Rejection

GB 14881-2025 Article 6.2.2.2

Pipe & Cable Wall Penetration Sealing

All pipe and cable tray wall penetrations must be tightly filled and sealed; gaps must be sealed with mold-resistant sealant — no holes, no dust accumulation

High-Frequency Rejection

SC Review General Rules — Production Site Inspection

Wall-Floor Joints

Wall-to-floor intersections must be free of cracks and delamination; waterproofing layer must be continuous and intact

Medium-Frequency Inspection

GB 50687-2011 Article 5.3.4

Non-compliance with the above detail nodes will result in rectification orders at minimum and may directly impact SC certification approval. In particular, curved corner transitions in clean operation areas are mandatory inspection details for auditors and must not be finished with ordinary right-angle edges.

Simon's cleanroom construction team delivers standardized treatment of wall and floor detail nodes, with the full process aligned to SC certification requirements, ensuring first-pass audit success for food factory projects in the Pearl River Delta region.
